Year of the Buffalo was formed in 2011 by childhood friends, Jake Trego and Dan Sievers. Shortly after forming, YOTB released their debut EP “Darling Laney” and sold dozens of albums. Three short years and several more dozen album sales later (24), YOTB released their first full length record, “Roam Free.” This record would go on to receive several awards, all of which were lost at sea. After a few more years of soul searching, Jake’s wedding, and Dan moving out of his van, YOTB released “The Wolf Moon Sessions” in 2019.

Year of the Buffalo finally hit their big break in 2020 when Jake paid off all of his credit card debt. In October of 2020, YOTB released a single called, “Ohio River” which eclipsed 500K streams within the first 3 months. That’s actually not a joke. YOTB will continue to release new tunes under the “Ohio River” title for the remainder of 2021.

In all seriousness, we’re lucky to get to do what we do. From travelling 500 miles every weekend to record our first album, living in a van, sleeping in the studio, and consuming several hundred McRibs, our hearts and stomachs are full. We do what we love and get to tell our story to dozens. Stay tuned.
